It is best to plan now to develop passive income streams after the pandemic

Today, I would like to focus on what I am doing over the next week to increase my earnings following the pandemic.

1). On Monday, I will begin a marketing campaign to announce my on-line training for Anger Management Facilitator Certification in August.
2). The average annual earned income for Certified Anger Management Facilitators is greater than the salaries of many college degree holders.
3). The hourly income from any service that can be provided in groups via SKYPE or Zoom is greater than a service that can only be offered individually. 10 persons in an anger management group for one hour at $41 per person will generate $410 for that hour.
4). If you offer Anger Management Facilitator Certification for others On-line for $997 for 10 persons, your passive income will be $9,970. Naturally, you will earn more by offering more classes or trainings.

During the Clinton Administration, I was invited to the White Conference on Managed Healthcare.

During the conference, I shared my concern that Managed Healthcare would force independent healthcare providers to either seek employment or become per session consultants for group practices. Unfortunately, I was correct. Anderson & Anderson, APC was forced to discontinue all of our Preferred Provider Agreements with major corporations to provider inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment.

At the time of this White House Conference, Anderson & Anderson, APC had agreements with AMTRAX, Xerox, Occidental Petroleum, United Air Lines, Mexicana Air Lines and several others. We had contractors consisting of Psychiatrists, Psychologists and Clinical Social Workers in twelve western states. We were the largest referral source for Comprehensive Health Care in the U.S.

In response to Managed Healthcare, one of the first things we did was to invest in rental property as a more stable independent income stream. I wrote and self-published a client workbook on Batterer’s Intervention and a second curriculum on Anger Management. I quickly began certifying others in these two needed services.

Just I we did in the above crisis, I am moving aggressively to plan for the “new normal” post Covid-19. I have developed three CEU Home Study CEU trainings in Anger Management and Batterer’s Intervention. I have developed a new On-line Emotional Intelligence Coach Certification training. I have also placed my Anger Management Certification On-line. Finally, I have increased the marketing of our related client workbooks to Prison-Reentry Programs as well as Mental Health and Social Service Agencies.

Now is the time to plan for the Post Pandemic.

Person-directed violence and aggression will become yet another epidemic as a result of Covid-19

Physicians working to treat coronavirus are reporting an increase in stress, anxiety, depression and "disruptive behavior". Unfortunately, physicians are reluctant to access counseling or psychotherapy based on the risks of career derailment.

The Joint Commission of The Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations has approved Emotional Intelligence Coaching for "disruptive physician behavior" since 2008. This coaching includes Pre and Post Assessments as well as skill enhancement in self-awareness, self-control, social awareness and relationship management.

The incidence of domestic violence is already reaching alarming rates worldwide. The orders to stay at home, social distance and self-quarantine are meant to keep people safe during the COVID-19 pandemic; however, for survivors of domestic violence, their home may not be the safest place.
António Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations confirms the surge in domestic violence is global. Domestic violence advocates are currently reporting an increase in people calling help hotlines. Becky Lee with Becky's Fund, a non-profit in D.C. that works to end domestic violencesays:"These survivors are seeing the additional stress of having this place where you are with that person all day long and not having any outlets. Sports are not going on, you can't go to the gym, maybe with work even the added stress of financial stress of maybe losing your job or having to work from home, no child care," Lee said. "All these different factors are adding to tensions of being not only already in a situation where you are walking on eggshells because you have to be in that physical space with your abuser."
It is clear that Certified Anderson Management Facilitators who offer Emotional Intelligence Assessments and intervention will be in demand worldwide. In contrast to psychiatric treatment, emotional intelligence coaching is stigma free.

Can emotional intelligence be useful for burnout?

Emotional Intelligence (E.I) is very important in the recognition and management of our own emotions and the emotions of others.

Emotional Intelligence and Burnout syndrome can be easily confirmed by providing Emotional Intelligence Assessments. EI skill enhancement coaching can be used effectively along with yoga, work life balance and other strategies for reducing burnout.

Since 2008, my firm, Anderson & Anderson, APC has been the largest provider of Emotional Intelligence Coaching for “disruptive physicians” in the U.S. We have observed that a common co-occurring disorder with “disruptive behavior” is burnout.

Most of our current physician coaching clients are reporting an alarming increase in burnout that is being caused by the working conditions and health ]=risks caused by the current pandemic.

It is clear that the need for a more comprehensive response to burnout for all first responders will be needed in the new post Covid-19 normal.

Presenting "disruptive behavior" in the workplace

Preventing “disruptive behavior” in the workplace is far more effective and less expansive than Anger Management

“Disruptive behavior” can best be defined as behavior that is perceived by others as abusive, bullying, aggressive, demeaning, argumentative or inhibits positive interpersonal interactions or team cohesiveness. Generally, it is the HR Managers or Organizational Psychologists who are in the best position to determine the behaviors that negatively impact group or organizational success.

On-line Anger Management Programs are available for use by Managers, Supervisors or Human Resource Managers to assist at risk employees. Workplace violence can be prevented and emotional intelligence can be introduced by implementing Train The Trainer Courses for Emotional Intelligence for Impulse control/disruptive behavior.
