County Hospitals Join Private Hospitals In Holding "disruptive physicians" Accountable

Budget cuts and bureaucratic obstacles have delayed for almost two years the implementation of the JCAHO Sentinel Alert on "disruptive physician" intervention. In the last three weeks, County Hospitals are now referring physicians for coaching whose behavior has placed patient care at risk based on aggressive, intimidating or condescending behavior at work.

When given a choice, physicians prefer to be seen individually as opposed to participating in small groups over a three or four day period. In addition, these physicians prefer to be seen On-site as opposed to traveling to San Diego or Nashville, Tn.

In selecting a reliable Executive Coaching/Anger Management Program for a Physician, Executive or Attorney, it important to make certain that the provider has provided this services for other Hospital or Physician Well-Being Committees.
