Program Options for "disruptive physicians" Nationwide

Unfortunately, one of the best-kept secrets in the Health Care Industry is a directory or list of legitimate resources for physicians mandated to attend programs for "disruptive behavior".

Neither the American Medical Association nor any of the Regional Medical Associations nor state Medical Boards has taken the time to establish a list of qualified providers of intervention for "disruptive physicians".

Medical School based Programs at Vanderbilt University and The University of California School of Medicine at San Diego are the oldest, best known and must widely referred programs for physicians in the nation. However, these programs offer their services at their respective campuses for 8 physicians per quarter for each of these two programs.

This means that all services are offered in small groups of eight physicians over a three- day period. Naturally, these programs are always over subscribed leading to long delays and frustration to physicians and those who refer them.

The most flexible of the three major programs currently available is the nationally recognized Anderson & Anderson Coaching/Anger Management for "disruptive physicians" based in Los Angeles. This program has almost unlimited capacity and saves highly skilled surgeons and other specialists by offering these services either in Los Angeles or On-Site seven days a week any where in the U.S.

This program is offered in two phases. Phase One include the comprehensive BarOn EQ-i-2.0 Emotional Intelligence Assessment followed by interpretation and feedback along with an action plan developed in conjunction with the physician client. This 12- hour training is offered over two days and is available on weekends if requested.

Phase Two includes our Six Month Aftercare Program with a focus on enhancing skills identified during Phase 1. The Practice Of Control client workbook, Gaining Control Of Ourselves DVD, Styles of Communication CD and the Contrasting Wheels of Behavior are used to teach Emotional Intelligence Skills during this phase of the intervention. The 360 degree Post Test can be administered at the end of this training.
